How do I contact a Mafia Wars player who isn't in my friends list?

There isn't an official way to contact someone through game... the Mafia Wars application pretty much allows for no direct verbal communication.

You can get a bit sneaky with Facebook IDs (see more about how to get & use those here,) but I'd say the easiest way is to use Bobby Heartrate's Switch Profile bookmarklet. Simply go to http://heartrate.se and drag the "Switch Profile" link from the page to your toolbar. Then, just click it whenever you are viewing someone's Mafia Wars profile and it'll take you to their Facebook profile page, where you can send them a friend request or message.

The Switch Profile bookmarklet will also take you from someone's Facebook profile page to their Mafia Wars profile page. It'll toggle back and forth between the Facebook profile and Mafia Wars profile pages easy as pie!

Don't forget to be courteous when contacting someone privately or once they have accepted your friend request. Mafia Wars is just a game after all, plus the world has enough rudeness in it already. :)
