Can you change your character type (Fearless, Mogul, Maniac) or are you stuck with what you originally picked?
For now, you are stuck with your character type. From what I understand, you used to be able to spend Godfather points to change it, but they took that out.
It's a topic of frequent woe and you'll often see efforts on the official forum lobbying to allow changing it again -- maybe someday they'll re-implement it! But for now, you are stuck. Sorry :(
How do I contact a Mafia Wars player who isn't in my friends list?

No, sadly you cannot change your character type. From what I understand, the Godfather used to offer this for godfather points but it is no longer possible.

In Mafia Wars, I'm known as Ava Tagliano. My real name is Jen (short for Jennifer... egh, I hate having one of the most popular '80s names.) I currently live in southeast Virginia.
